ABOUT

About Diana J Scott

I’ve been in broadcasting since 1996 working as a news reporter, DJ and news director. I’ve done radio and television in Western Canada, and I even used to DJ weddings! I love people. I find just about everything interesting, which is how I got into the news business. I also found I love telling people’s success stories and promoting businesses.

Being a newsie, you have to know about everything under the sun, which is perfect for a voice over artist. I also have a medical background and so am quite comfortable doing medical and technical voice overs that may prove difficult for some. I’m a great writer and editor and can provide input if needed. I can work alone with technology, or I can work with a producer of your choice.

This job is the most fun you can have with your headphones on!

FAQ’s

A) Of course! With the advent of technology, I can do voice over work from anywhere! I have my own studio equipment, or I can work with producers over the phone or in person.
A) Yes. I am an excellent writer. I have been a news reporter and broadcaster for more than 12 years. My expertise is in making technical issues easy to understand for the average person. I am also great at getting right to the point and making your message concise and powerful. I can even help with your media releases.
A) Pricing varies project to project, and each proposal is different. Basic telephone holds are as low as $50. Local radio commercials are usually about $100. National commercials usually cost more. The industry standard for 1 minute of edited voice work is $100, but that  gets cost prohibitive for large projects. Generally, an hour of work translates into about $250 – $300.
For example, an online education course may take about 5 or 6 hours to complete. But hiring me means you don’t need to pay a professor, which saves you a lot of money. Extra costs can be accrued by changing your mind after voicing is complete or going back for re-dos. To prevent re-dos, I’m available to help with the wording if needed.
