I’ve been an entrepreneur for a while. And I’ve sometimes worked from home. However, I’ve recently taken the plunge to become a digital nomad working from different places around the world. This month, I am in Prague, Czechia with We Roam, an organisation that looks after the logistics of those who want to work remotely but aren’t interested in dealing with all the details like finding a place to stay and a co-working space. Plus, you have the added benefit of travelling with the different participants so you are not totally on your own.
One of my businesses is transcription, which is perfect for remote work. I am also a voiceover artist. This, however, is a fledgeling company that I am ramping up while travelling the world. Kind of crazy, right? But I thought, “Go big or go home”. My co-working space in Prague (Opero) has little booths for private phone calls or meetings. They are perfect for voiceover work as they are nicely padded to absorb the sound. How fortuitous is that?
With regard to my experience working remotely, it is going well so far. Our group is very professional and our work space is full every day. We have a broad range of careers. Some of us are in IT, some are in the medical field, some are in communication, and some are artists. We all have one thing in common, however: a thirst for travel, new experiences, learning about other cultures and history, and exploring the world and ourselves. As this is my first time truly working remotely, I will share any tips with you that I think beneficial. If you have any questions for me, please ask. Also, if you have any tips for me, I’d love to hear them. What have been your experiences working remotely?
